About Hella Prante & This Blog

Hi Dear Reader. I am new to this blogging stuff and learning as I go. My intention with this blog is to get you as excited and interested in British Columbia and the Yukon as I am– and my father was before me. My brother, Ray has so generously provided me with so many fabulous photos from his yearly pilgrimages up North. and throughout BC.

The Northwest portion of North America is amazing! The opportunities for outdoor recreational sports are endless and phenomenal.

While it is true, that I am really not a hunter or fishing expert, I love our super-natural country.

I did however, begin editing a lot of Dad’s creative writing back in the 1950’s when I was just 8 years old and later on from the 1970s until he died in 1992. In addition, I worked with him for Prante Boatworks Ltd. and helped repair fibreglass boats.

I am providing links to different areas of interest and working on explaining bits of info as I go along.

I want to make this an interesting journey as I delve into the many boxes of my Dad’s writings and memorabilia and photos and slides and share what I find with you.

My Dad’s favourite hunting spot was the Atlin, BC area and that is why at this time I started focussing there while building the blog. Dad was a complex man and interested in many things.  Nevertheless, it is a bit awkward for me to make this journey and use my voice, my brother’s and other family members and eventually more of my Dad’s.

I think over time it will “morph” into what  it is supposed to be and I hope you come back and see what is happeneing on a regular basis.

As far as Dad’s book that is currently for sale goes; It would be great if you were interested and bought a copy to read, if you enjoy ” hunting type” stories. But– even if you don’t— please do check out the links and photos I will post. I have recently published his book on www.Amazon.com

If the spirit moves you— please leave a comment or email me. I truly would love to hear from you!

Thank you very much.
